StEER Releases Event Briefing for Texas and Louisiana March 2022 Tornado Outbreak

StEER has released its Event Briefing for Texas and Louisiana Tornado Outbreak:

This project encompasses only an Event Briefing, an abbreviated StEER response mechanism that shares StEER’s impressions of the event and implications for natural hazard research and practice. Information provided herein was gathered from various websites, news channels, and National Weather Service. Therefore, this briefing does not include insights from detailed field investigations.


This event briefing is intended to: 1) summarize the tornado outbreak and its overall impacts, 2) highlight performance of and use of community shelters in the Jacksboro, TX tornado, 3) explore the potential link between the performance of structures in the Arabi, LA tornado and past hazard impacts, and 4) identify potential opportunities for follow-up hypothesis-driven research.
