StEER Releases New Organizational Manual
Greetings,
As our colleagues in academia prepare to embark on a new school year, we are also embarking on some new organizational housekeeping for StEER.
We are pleased to announce our new Organizational Manual. This document replaces our Member Guidelines to better explain StEER’s operations to its members. This document reflects changes resulting from:
Evolving policies and learnings about conducting reconnaissance in collaboration with partners within and beyond NHERI.
Our new tiered response model that establishes clear criteria for when we activate or escalate our response to an event, as well as the products resulting from each level of response. (This is summarized in this video for a quick primer.)
Our new unified assessment app in Fulcrum, which allows us to conduct a range of assessments for different hazard classes from a single app. (This is summarized in this video for a quick primer). Efforts are underway to migrate all of our existing assessments into this app so our members will have a “one stop shop” for all StEER data.
You will find this manual, as well as other videos and guidance documents, at our newly revamped resources page on the StEER website: https://www.steer.network/resources.
All new members will also receive a copy of this new manual in their acceptance email; we encourage even our most seasoned members to review this document for greater clarity on our evolving organizational model.
Keep an eye out for more housekeeping and positioning for the next chapter of StEER to continue our collective efforts to Build Resilience through Reconnaissance.
Sincerely,
